Options for Fulfilling Your Language Requirement
- AP credit from high school automatically clears your language requirement
- 4 years of high school Spanish fulfills the language requirement
- Completing SPAN 201 with D- or better (ENROLL IN SPAN 201 IF YOU HAVE 3 YEARS OF HIGH
SCHOOL SPANISH)
High School Equivalencies
- 2 years of Spanish in high school is equivalent to SPAN 101 → Enroll in SPAN 102
- 3 years of Spanish in high school is equivalent to SPAN 101 + SPAN 102 → Enroll in SPAN 201
- 4 years of Spanish in high school fulfills the language requirement → Enroll in SPAN 202 or SPAN 212 or SPAN 281
- 5 or 6 years of Spanish in high school → Enroll in SPAN 301 or SPAN 381
AP Exam in High School
- A score of 3 on the AP language exam → Enroll in SPAN 201 and SPAN 211
- A score of 4 or 5 on the AP language exam → Enroll in SPAN 301 or SPAN 381
- A score of 3, 4, 5 on AP literature exam → Enroll in SPAN 301 or SPAN 381
